Mila's Day at the Office

So, I've been working from home, some, as part of my smaller work schedule. (My maternity leave is all over but my boss is graciously letting me work 30-hour weeks until early April!) Well, a few weeks back when Donnie was in Denver I worked at home for 3 days and Mila thought she'd died and gone to puppy heaven.

Donnie is usually around somewhere since he works out of the house (for now!) but she's pretty much on her own during the day. Well, I set up shop at our dining room table and this is what it looked like all day long. And, yes, I let her on the table with me. Calm down. Only when there's no food.

From "Bubba" to "Bruiser"

MD had his 4-month check-up yesterday with Dr. Ha. Well, we all knew he loved his food but how much does he really love his food??

* Weight: 18lbs 4oz - 95% larger than other kids his age
* Height: 27.5 in. - 100% larger than other kids his age

So, basically there's like 3 other kids in the US that weigh more than him and he's like the tallest 4-month old ever :)

We just love, love, love that he's a big boy and we're so honkin' proud of him! Poor thing had to endure 3 shots and 1 oral medication yesterday. Well, you'd think he would have eaten that oral stuff up (like he did last time) but this time he spit every bit of it out. And the shots...well, the biggest cry I've ever seen come from him. But, he only screamed for about 30 seconds then he calmed down. Well, mommy was also holding his dinner right in front of him the whole time so he had a pretty yummy treat waiting for him.

Happy 4-Month Birthday, Stinky

Yesterday, 11.7.07, was MD's 4-month birthday! Wow, 4 months since I was lying, completely numb, on that operating table patiently (well, not so patiently) waiting to meet the little creature that had been growing inside my huge, and I mean huge, belly for over 9.5 months. Seems like yesterday. Also seems like a lifetime has passed in these past 4 months.

Michael Dean is my sweet little gift that I never knew I wanted but God knew I needed.

We love you so much, MD. Enjoy that yummy rice cereal and before you know it you'll get to enjoy even yummier smashed butternut squash...

Look at how big I'm getting

I once caught a fish this big!

What is this thing?

Whatever it is, I've got its toy!

"Save my toy, mom!" says the dog

Introducing...Rice Cereal!

So, Michael Dean is 2 days away from being 4 months old and eats like a college frat guy so we decided to start rice cereal a little early. Today was day #3 and I don't think he's swallowed any yet! I scoop a little in his mouth and it just sits there. It doesn't really come out but it doesn't really go in either. I think I maybe got a swallow or 2 today so we're getting there...fun times!

Yummy!

"I'll eat off the spoon for you, mom!" says Mila

Daddy, This One's For You

Hi Daddy! I know you're in Denver this week so I asked mommy to put some pictures of me on this web thing for you. She only likes to post the embarrassing ones so I asked her to take some good ones special for you. I really miss you, daddy. It's just not the same here without racing or football on that big picture box for me to watch. I mean, I can only take so many chick flicks, you know. Love you, daddy!

I tried to get in but mommy wouldn't let me...

Thanks for the note, daddy!

I love you too :)

Happy (Late) Halloween!

MD experienced his first Halloween this year. Well, it was only from the cold, front seat of a stroller but he was dressed and ready for the occasion! He wanted to be a skeleton so we went out and found him an outfit. Now, some of you may have this confused with the pumpkin outfit we had him in for pictures. That was grandma's choice, not MD's. And then his aunt Jonda tried to dress him as Dolly Parton. Poor kid. Next thing you know MD will want to dress as an M.D., which is perfectly fine with mommy :)
