Surfside Beach 2009

We made our way down to the beach last weekend with some good friends of ours from church and really had a great time. My little one even slept well. Thank you, God!

MD's favorite place to sit (and favorite thing to drink) at the beach condo

Something new!

The minute he spotted this beach ball, it didn't leave his hands. It didn't get him in the pool, though...

Happy boy :)

At the Aquarium...

More fishies!

Can you believe he actually hugged the shark?

This really was his favorite part about the whole thing. It had big, red, squeaky wheels to turn.

He liked the beach up until this exact moment. He never went back towards the water again.

Chillin'

A Conversation, Already?

Mommy (while putting MD to bed): "Oops, did you drop your paci?"

MD: "Yah"

Mommy: "Well, where is it?"

MD: "Don't know"

Mommy: "Oh, here it is."

MD: "Thank you, mommy!"

Finally, conversations with my son. Wow.

Outdoor with MD

Since the weather has been so nice (except for today...I sent MD to daycare without a jacket...oops!) we've been spending a lot of time outside. Michael Dean has discovered he loves to draw with sidewalk chalk. Mom does too, so it's a win-win.

We've also been enjoying our walks around the neighborhood. It's hit-or-miss if MD's going to enjoy it, but if mommy's in a strong mood, he has no choice! It always helps, though, when our good buddies, the Cochrans, come over and walk with us. Their little girl, Maggie, just looooves Michael Dean. She's always hugging and kissing on him. So, we thought they'd enjoy a little date-night walk around the neighborhood, equipped with bottled water and raisins. It was a lot of fun - even when Maggie decided to put on a show for MD and spit water out of her mouth, drenching herself, and forcing her mom to strip her down to her little Princess pull-ups. She was just shaking (it was chilly that night) but MD thought she was the funniest thing.

Great, Great Wolf

This past weekend Donnie and I headed way far out of town, to The Great Wolf Lodge, to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. It took us a while to get there, but when we finally did, we had a lot of fun! Nah, for those of you who don't know, The Great Wolf Lodge is a new lodge/indoor water park right across I-85 from Concord Mills. Simply minutes from our home.

We loaded up MD, shipped him off with Mimi and Papa for the night and headed to the lodge. Man, we had so much fun! The water slides were amazing. The water activities were great. The rooms were beautiful and smelled new. The food was OK, a bit pricy. The staff was sweet and helpful. The cost was way too much for just 2 adults. But, all-in-all, I'd definitely recommend it. And, we'll definitely go back.

Even though Donnie and I were purposely there celebrating each other and the 6 years we've managed to make it with each other (love you, Donnie!) - we missed our little guy. We think he would have loved it. They have this very cute little area set up just for kiddos his size. It really was just a lot of fun.

Well, since I felt a bit awkward pulling out my camera around a bunch of half-naked strangers, I didn't take a lot of photos. However, I did manage to snap Donnie getting drenched - and I mean soaked - by the huge water bucket that constantly filled up and dumped out every few minutes or so. Donnie's the little guy in the bottom, left corner in the red shorts...

The Real Mother's Day Pics

In my last post, I just put a bunch of photos of MD and me. You know, to celebrate my Mommy's Day. Well, here's pics from my actual Mother's Day. We had my mom and grandma over for dinner, then met my sister and her family for some Grampy's ice cream later that night. So far, MD's no fan of ice cream. I thought getting his favorite color ("lellow") ice cream would help, but all he wanted to do was carry it around and give people bites...

The boy still loves him some bubbles ° ° °

Whew, I'm Back

OK, I think I'm back on. My little menu is back that lets me post pictures. I sure missed it.

Anyway, I've got lots of photos to share but I'm going to start with Mom's Day. These pictures weren't exactly taken this past Sunday, but they're recent - and they're of my sweet one and me. I'll be back with more, soon.

And, Happy (Late) Mom's Day to all you mommies out there! You are all absolutely special and should be made to feel extra special every day.

Happy Mom's Day to me!

Say Ahhh...

Problems

Well, it seems I'm not able to upload pictures at the moment and that makes me very sad. So, I'm going to investigate because I've got some good pics to share - finally.

Bear with me...
