Grandma's New Room

So, Grandma Donna just couldn't resist putting together a nursery for her very own. Who can blame her, right? Well, here it is! It's very cute and cozy...I'm sure it will get a lot of good use on nights and weekends. Thanks Grandma :)

Mila-Tested & Approved

Well, the most logical thing, once Donnie put the crib together, was to test it out on our baby girl. I mean, if she likes it then Michael's gotta like it, right?

So, as if the crib wasn't enough excitement for Mila, even more fun things have made their way into her little world! When we brought home the loot from our first shower, she scoped everything out and sneakishly (or at least that's what she thought) stole a little bunny from the bunch. Her and the bunny are now inseperable...well, that is until she found a new toy in the next set of shower gifts.

Our First Shower!

So, 2 Saturdays ago (May 5) we had our first baby shower, graciously hosted by my mom (Donna), Donnie's mom (Linda) & 2nd mom (Patty). We really had a good time and were so blessed by the people who came and the gifts they brought. Little Michael is already well on his way to being the best outfitted baby in all of Harrisburg Town Center. We love you all!

Madi's Walk to D'Feet ALS

Chandler, Grandpa Jeff & Madison - Easter, 2001As you all know my beautiful dad passed away 5 1/2 years ago on September 10, 2001 from a debilitating, terminal illness called ALS. (A lot of people know it as Lou Gehrig's Disease)

So, my very cool niece, who loves and misses her grandpa Jeff very much is walking in a charity event this weekend (Saturday, May 19) for ALS. Her goal is to raise $1,500 and so far she's 71% of the way there...Go Madi!

If you'd like to read what she wrote about her grandpa Jeff and/or donate, go to her web page at web.alsa.org/goto/madison.sisson.

MD's Room: Stage 2

The crib is in! Mimi and Papa Icenhour bought little Michael his crib and we've got it (almost) ready for occupancy. I still need to get a mattress pad and some sheets but there's still time, right?!

Donnie had a blast putting it together. (tee hee) He actually said it was easier than the changing table...not as many small pieces.

The little man's room is really coming together thanks to all of you who have contributed so far! It feels quite cozy and (you'll see a little later) that Mila likes it to. She wanted to test it out before her little brother had to live in it. She's going to be a good big sister.

The Camera Adds 10 Pounds, Right?!

Well, here we are at 30 weeks/7.5 months! I've got a little over 2 months to go and by the looks of this picture this shirt will be lucky to make it another month. (Donnie is always my setup shot so he wanted to get our first baby in the picture!)

We saw our favorite doctor, Dr. Jones, on Tuesday and all is still well. The little man's heart was racing at 140 beats a minute and I am measuring right at 30 weeks. I was kinda hoping to measure closer to 40 but oh well...

I'm still feeling pretty good. I am starting to notice some back pain and my right hip has now suddenly started to make its presence known. From what I hear, though, it's all normal. Yah, normal for another 10 weeks. Can't wait :)

One thing I have learned, though...no more McDs for dinner. The kickback is no fun at 1am the next morning...

Look at how big I am!

Happy Anniversary to...Us!

So, 4 years ago today Donnie and I made the most important committment of our entire lives...to be with each other forever!

To honor our day, Donnie sent me a beautiful bouquet of red roses at work. Which, of course, is the best place to get flowers because there's so many opportunities to brag...I mean, share in others' joy as they smell that really great rose scent.

Donnie, you are my one and only. You make me laugh so hard and we've both grown to cherish those moments of intense crying and laughter. You make me feel safe and oh so loved. I look forward to seeing you every day (after work, of course, since the mornings are worthless for me) and getting one of your enormous hugs. I can't wait to see you as a great daddy...because you already are an amazing husband.

In the immortal words of Huey Lewis, "I'm happy to be stuck with you."
