Today is my beautiful mother's birthday. I won't reveal her age but the digits add up to 9. See if you can figure it out.

Halfway There!

I had my 20-week checkup yesterday and all is well! We heard our little guy's heartbeat again. Fast as usual. He was moving around a lot. The little doppler device our doctor uses to hear his heartbeat picked up a lot of high-pitched movement. He kinda sounded like a little dolphin in there.

I have been feeling him move a bit. It's random but I'm pretty sure it's him. When he moves, I translate that as him telling me to feed him some more M&M's. So I do. But, my doctor nicely warned me that I need to be "careful" with my weight as I've gained a little over the recommended 10 pounds at this point. I guess my 12 salads a day haven't been paying off. Oh well, thank you God for making me tall :)

Our First Baby

So, all this posting is missing something...our baby girl, Mila! When we got that huge blizzard a week or so ago Donnie took Mila out for her first snow experience. He bundled her up in her little suede coat (just like mommy's) and let her go. I guess she thought she was standing in a big field of cold, marshmallow fluff because the first thing she did was try to eat it. Good girl.

Officially a Maternity-Clothes Wearer

Well, here I am at 4.5 months. You know, I just don't think I am that big until I see a picture of me. The camera adds 10 pounds anyway, right?! Nah, I think it's just because I am still trying to shove into my cute, gray, non-preggers t-shirt. Maybe it's time to retire that. Or just cover it up with a sweatshirt!

It's A...

...Boy!! We found out this morning that the little peanut is a boy. It was quite obvious based on the ultrasound pictures (which I'll post when I get them scanned) so I guess we're going to be blessed with a not-so-modest little guy :)

He was just adorable. We got to see him turn over, look at us, look away and even yawn! What a cool thing. The nurse said he is measuring quite well, even a little bigger than the weeks tell us. (I am 18 weeks today but she said he's measuring closer to 19 weeks!) So, I guess that means he's either going to come early or I'll be birthing a 2-year old child. Let's hope it's not the latter.

My Good Buddies

This past Saturday I visited 2 of my beautiful friends, Erin & Melanie, in Asheville, NC. They're both previous roomies of mine and have both become mommies in the last 9 months! So, naturally, I had tons of questions for them but it was also just so nice to catch up and hang out for a bit.

Erin was kind enough to loan me some of her preggers clothes. She's my tallest friend so I was oh so grateful. Though, I found out I'm a tad larger than her so most of her pants were too tight. In fact, I'm sitting in an adorable pair right now that are almost cutting me in two. But, I'll just suffer until I can peel them off at home, wash them and pack them away!

I just adore all of my close girlfriends and hope they all know how very special they are to me. I am blessed.
