My Future Photographer

We're not reading books yet. We're still working our way through Stage 1 foods. We're not even really sitting on our own yet. But, man, we are taking pictures. Oh yah! I put the camera in MD's hands, and positioned his fingers appropriately. Here's what happened...

My Little Boy

So, we're approaching MD's 7-month birthday. Wow! You know, I heard many times before MD was born and even right after we had him that "the days are long but the weeks are short." My goodness, is that true. I am still very fortunate to only be working 30-hours/week right now. Which means I have Friday thru Monday with my sweet one. Those days flllllyyyy by... Before I know it, it is Tuesday morning at 5:30 and I am back to watching MD on the monitor before I rush off to work. Well, c'est la vie. I so cherish my time with him and if I weren't working, maybe I wouldn't do that. Who knows.

But, I still click my camera as much as possible and here's a few recent ones. OK, so the shower pics are from early December but that's OK. Gimme a break. I'm a working mom, ya know ;)

Daddy and MD's shower time. MD loves the water hitting his belly!

I just can't resist baby feet.

No more infant seat :( So, trips home from Grams' (on my work days) are a bit rough on MD.

Throw the kid in a toy box and he's a happy boy.

A Few Stories...

Remember this? Yah, I don't either. We've been having laptop issues & I have no new photos to post. Sad. So, here's my sweet little baby before he turned into a big, little boy and here's a few "little boy" stores:

* As MD is getting older he's getting more vocal, independent, adventurous, fun...I could go on forever. Well, one thing he's taught himself to do is blow bubbles. Now, this is really cute when he's sitting in his exersaucer, but with green beans in his mouth, it's not so cute. The other night, he started doing this when I was feeding him his green beans. So, I thought what better time to start using that magical word "No" than now. The next time he decided to blow green bean bubbles I told him "No" in a non-nice-mommy voice. He quickly stopped, looked at me, and after about 3 seconds of stare he brought on the waterworks and just started weeping! I was shocked. This is definitely a first. Is he understanding the word "No" or is he just noticing mommy's no-smile and change of voice? Who knows, but it broke my heart. I stood my ground though and didn't give in and kept up with the "No's." Now, if only grandma could take on this word too...

* Also a few days ago (this past weekend was a big one!) MD decided to roll over in his crib...in the middle of the night. See, he's been sick with a pretty rough head cold so I think his lack of air woke him up and he decided to play. Well, it wasn't enough to just play on his back. He decided to roll. Surprisingly, he actually fell asleep for a bit, but when he woke up he was not a happy camper. He got pretty aggetated and was stuck. So, mommy to the rescue. I quietly tip-toed in, rolled him over and left. Well, that made him even more unhappy. "Mommy came in but didn't get me out!", said MD. "Cry. Cry. Cry. Sniff. Sniff. Cry." Not much air was leaving his nose so I chose to get him up anyway, do a little nose-sucking then we finished the night (about an hour and a half) in the rocker downstairs. Sheesh...I'm soooo glad my baby's a good sleeper because being up, again, in the middle of the night is no fun.

I just love, love, love these new experiences! MD is changing from baby to boy quickly. The size 12-18m coat I just bought him is evidence of that...

Happy 6 Months (with MORE Photos)!!

Solid foods are finally here! OK, so they've been here a few weeks but, it's now official. We, of course, had a little MD photo shoot on his 6-month birthday and here's my favorite! I'm sifting through the rest and will post the "pretty" ones later (below). But, this one is just priceless.

Funny thing is he wasn't upset at all. I just caught him in a position change. Work it, MD. Show me lion.

Here's the rest of my favorites...

Simply Irresistible.

MD's 1st taste of peas. Not a favorite yet.

'07 Holiday Recap, Part 2

Our very first Christmas as a family of "5" deserved its' own post! On Christmas morning, business was as usual for MD. Up around 7:45am, diaper change, face clean-off, hugs and kisses from mom & dad then cereal and milk for breakfast, not in a bowl, though. He was completely oblivious to the fact it was Christmas morning! But, we put him right in the middle of our gift-opening festivities and he seemed to have fun.

He opened a couple of gift bags and got a couple of forehead-bows but then was ready to take his morning snoozer very soon after. Before that, though, we tried to click a few pics so we could remember our first Christmas morning with Michael Dean. Those mornings will change drastically in the years to come, I know, but this year was just so special for all of us.

'07 Holiday Recap

So, first of all, Happy New Year! 1 day down, 364 to go. Yup, it's a leap year. That means my mom gets to have a birthday...

Our Christmas festivities were crazy as usual - ate too much food; laughed at too many people, I mean jokes; took too many car trips; clicked too many pictures; ate too many sweets (hello again baby fat); and had too much fun! Gosh, I love Christmas time.

Michael Dean did great, for the most part. I think he's turning into a baby who likes his peace and quiet. Well, at least peace and quiet around him. He definitely makes himself known with screams and yells :) By the time we headed home on Christmas night, he was done. He was ready to get home to his bed. Didn't open his eyes once from grandma's house - to his car seat - to his bed. What a sweetie!

So, here it goes - all the pics! Enjoy...

> Christmas Morning at Mimi and Papa's House:

> Christmas Day at Grams and Gramps' House:
(OK, so my big brother Bob and his family weren't there but they sent us pics of their Christmas!)
